So are there any nraas alternatives that are just a little more simple? I'm mostly looking for something to make game feel more alive, without having Sims hook up and raise skills every other minute. At the same time, I hear EA's story progression is kinda stupid as it doesn't force sims to procreate, meani g eventually your town will just die. I don't want to play around with settings for hours just so I can get a comfortable experience.

Originally posted by GuyManBot:I have been trying on and off to play this game with Nraas SP, but I think I have come to the conclusion that mod is just for people who REALLY like this game. The downside there is that you have to accept the very many other things that AwesomeMod does as it's a Core Mod with far fewer controls and settings that can be adjusted. The only other modded form of progression out there is AwesomeMod, our "friendly competitor," with its Story Mode. If one or more of the individual kinds of progression (career, relationship, skill, money, etc.) are still happening too fast, each of them can also be individually adjusted to be yet slower (or faster) with the Speed settings under General Options > Options: (blah).īeyond that, there is a reason each of its twenty-seven schmillion or so settings has the default it does have and it's not really necessary to engage in endless hours of customization to get decent gameplay out of it unless one really wants to. Once the story queues clear out, the difference should become obvious. Also on an ongoing game, it will usually take a sim day or so for speed changes like that to be totally put into effect so it might not seem like there's any difference right away.

There will still be a flurry of career changes and adjustments in the beginning if the mod is introduced to an already ongoing game, but those are due to it trying to align sims' careers with their personalities and Lifetime Wishes. NRaas > SP > General Options > Adjust Speed and try Slow (2) or Snail (1). If you like what NRaas SP is doing generally but just wish for it slow the heck down (this is common), then just one setting adjustment is required.
